BEAUTY SUPPLIES

Refiller & One Retouch "Super"

Beauty supplies can include a variety of products. Makeup, skin care products, hair care products, and tools like hair brushes, hair dryers, tweezers, curling irons and makeup brushes can all be considered beauty supplies. These items go in and out of fashion just like clothing. Fashion dictates what tools you use and makeup, skin care products and hair care products often become more popular if a celebrity says they use them.

Beauty supplies can be found at drugstores, department stores and online stores. The most expensive place to buy beauty supplies is most likely the department store. Many people think that the brands sold in these stores are better than the less expensive drugstore brands but this isnt always true. Many of the department store brands are made by the same company as the drugstore brands and are basically the same product. Sometimes, cheaper products are just as good as their more expensive counterparts.

If you want to shop online for beauty supplies, you can visit the website for American Discount Beauty Supply at www.adiscountbeauty.com. This website claims to specialize in hard to find items. On this website you can find almost any type of beauty supply that you could want including hair care products, skin care tools, mirrors and much more.

Another popular online store selling beauty supplies is Sephora. Found at www.sephora.com, this site sells beauty supplies, beauty products and cosmetics. Sephora sells a wide range of brands and products divided into categories like makeup, skincare, fragrance, bath and body, hair and more. This site also contains articles and tips on makeup, skincare and hair. Sephora ships to Canada and the US.

BEAUTY SALONS

Beauty salons offer services such as hair cuts and hair colouring, waxing, manicures, facials and other skin treatments. Different beauty salons offer different services and the prices of these services can vary widely.

You will most likely have to visit several beauty salons before you find one that you like. It's important that you find a hairdresser or esthetician who listens to what you say and will give you what you want. You'll also want to find a salon that can provide great service at reasonable prices. A trip to the beauty salon can be quite expensive and you dont want to leave feeling that you paid too much for something you didnt want.

If you are visiting the beauty salon for esthetic services like a facial, manicure, pedicure or waxing, you'll want to make sure that the salon is clean. Infection can spread easily if instruments and surfaces are not cleaned after each client. You also might want to check that the staff has appropriate training. Ask where they went to school and what sort of diploma they have. These are usually posted in the salon.

If you are looking for a new beauty salon, you should talk to your friends or co-workers to get recommendations. They can also tell you which salons to avoid. Your friends will give you honest opinions and practical information about the salons that they have visited.

Finding a beauty salon that you are happy with can be a case of trial and error. But if you ask a few questions beforehand, and speak to some of the salon's clients, you can make the whole process shorter and easier.

FITNESS BEAUTY

Fitness and beauty can be one and the same. Being fit and healthy will automatically make you look better. A health inside creates a healthy outside.

Fitness through exercise can help you to maintain a healthy body weight and improve muscle tone. Exercise can also help to increase your self esteem and confidence which can lead you to take more pride and care in your appearance. In this way, fitness and beauty are linked.

Almost everyone says that getting regular exercise just doesn't fit into their busy schedule, but it can be as easy as taking a 20 to 30 minute walk each day. This can be accomplished by walking to work or taking a stroll at lunch with friends.

Many women don't achieve their fitness goals because they are intimidated by going to the gym. Some women overcome this by going to women only gyms. They feel that this is a more comfortable atmosphere where they are not as worried about being watched. You don't even really need to go to the gym at all to achieve your fitness goals. You can use workout tapes at home or go for walks each day.

When you are trying to become more fit and healthy, it's important not to get wrapped up in other peoples standards. You are your own worst critic already and listening to what others think you should look like will only bring you down. The most important thing is to be healthy. Beauty will follow.

HEALTH AND BEAUTY

Health and beauty go hand in hand. The healthier you are, the better you'll look. Your health affects not only how you feel, but also your outer beauty. If you are healthy, your hair and skin will look better and you will be more beautiful.

You should keep yourself healthy by eating a balanced diet and getting regular exercise. If you only eat junk food and sit around all day it will show. You should eat a diet including lots of fruits and vegetables and get some form of exercise each day. It can be as easy as going for a short walk.

There are several other factors that influence your health and beauty. Smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of sleep and sun exposure can all adversely affect your health and physical appearance. To stay healthy, don't smoke, drink only in moderation, get enough sleep and protect yourself from the sun.

If you are interested in buying health and beauty products, you can visit the website www.organichealthandbeauty.com. This website sells natural health products like vitamins and supplements. On this website you can also buy natural beauty products. You can buy similar products at many drugstores.

If you are interested in beauty and looking your best, you also need to be interested in your health. If you are unhealthy, it will show. Remember, the healthier you are, the more beautiful you will be.

MAKP-UP TREND NUDE GLOSSY LIPS

As the mercury rises, our skin requires a bronzey summer update. And to complement a sun-kissed complexion, it's also time to swap lip glosses. Choose a tube with golden shimmery flecks instead of silver-based shine.

To get a high-shine pucker like Katrina Kaif, apply a coat of shiny nude gloss over your regular formula.

MAKEUP FOR LARGE PORES -HOW TO HIDE LARGE PORES

Enlarged pores are a concern of many women of all agesAdd Image and skin types, especially for those with oily and combination skin. The best way to prevent enlarged and clogged pores is to fallow a strict skin care regimen that includes: cleansing, toning, moisturizing, nourishing.
Unfortunately there is no way to make large pores invisible and to shrink them for ever but there are some products that help minimize the appearance of enlarged pores and with a few makeup tricks you can conceal them and make large pores seem smaller.

Follow these simple steps when applying makeup to hide large pores and to achieve a flawless look:

Step 1. Cleanse and tone your face
Always cleanse and tone your face before you apply makeup. Use a gentle cleanser to remove all the impurities and excess oil. Tone your skin with a toner that is appropriate for your skin type – use it lavishly, especially if your skin is oily. Apply it with a cotton pad and wipe until your face looks and feels perfectly clean.

Step 2.* Use an ice cube or cool water to “shrink“ enlarged pores
Run an ice cube all over your face – the cool water shrinks and refresh the skin while moisturizing it at the same time. If you don’t have an ice cube you can splash your face with cool water. Cool water and ice cube rubbed in the skin will temporarily reduce the size of the pores.

Step 3. Apply moisturizer
Apply moisturizer as usual but make sure you apply the correct amount of it. The moisturizer is essential when applying makeup, no matter what your skin type is. It acts as a protective barrier to help trap moisture in the ski, it plumbs and comforts your skin and make the foundation easier to blend.

Step 4*. Apply Oil-controlling product
Using an oil controlling product after the moisturizer is essential for those women with oily and combination skin. Such products for example are: Lancôme Pure Focus T-Zone Matifier – Powder Gel For Instant Shine Control ($26), Clinique Pore Minimizer T-Zone Shine Control ($13.50).
These products give the skin a long-lasting matte finish, refine and tighten pores. Oil controlling products should be applied only to the problem areas / usually the T-zone forehead, nose and chin/. They reduce shine, absorb the excess sebum and reduce the look of pores.

Step 5*. Apply pore minimizing product
Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector ($16.50) is one of my favorite makeup products. This product is something like a foundation and a concealer that instantly refines the look of enlarged pores and provides long-lasting matte and flawless finish. Apply it before the foundation only to problem areas or over the entire face if you don’t want to use a foundation. The best thing about the Instant Perfector is that it really conceals open pores without clogging them and resists sweat, excess oil and humidity.

Step 6. Apply makeup primer
Applying a makeup primer is a must for every woman with oily skin. The primers not only make your makeup stay put on for longer but also helps hide enlarged, open pores by providing a perfect base for the makeup application. They create a smooth and perfect surface and prepare the skin for the foundation and the powder. A primer works especially well for people with oily and combination skin as they control excess shine, absorb oil and fill in enlarged pores, creating an even surface. Apply the makeup primer after the moisturizer and before the foundation.

Step 7. Apply foundation
Although many women use foundations to hide enlarged pores, others avoid using foundation to areas where pored are enlarged because it can magnify their look and call more attention to the pores. Yes it’s true that a foundation may magnify the look of the pores but only if it isn’t appropriate for your skin type. I have seen many women who are using powder foundations to conceal large pores and the result isn’t very pleasant because they don’t apply it properly. Many of these women think that a powder foundation should be applied as a powder but that is not true. A powder foundation is different than a powder, although they both look alike. Powder foundation should be applied on well moisturized face with a sponge, fingers or a foundation brush. A big mistake that most women make is that they reapply the foundation two/ three times a day without removing it. This way they create layers of powdery ingredients which “clog“ the pores and create an uneven surface. Too heavy foundations can settle into your open pores and make them appear larger.
A water-based, oil-free foundation works best for hiding enlarged pores because the subtle finish they impart reduces the appearance of pores. But remember – you should apply just a small amount of the foundation if you have enlarged pores, otherwise you can make them look even larger and more visible. Apply it with a makeup sponge or with your fingertips for more precise application.

Step 8. Apply loose powder
Using a powder is a good way to correct your makeup during the day and to create a matte finish. Many of my clients ask me whether a powder clogs pores and the answer is no, as long as you apply it properly and remove your makeup everyday. Another frequently asked question is which powder works best for hiding large pores – pressed powder or loose powder. In my opinion the loose powder is better choice for concealing large pores as it provides a good coverage and is usually translucent. The best thing about the loose powder is that it won’t make the shiny areas flaky, as it contains more oil-absorbing ingredients. How to apply it – dust it lightly on your skin with a large, powder brush. Apply the powder to the centre of the face and stroke your face gently to cover all areas evenly.

HOW TO REMOVE AND PREVENT WHITEHEADS

Whiteheads are form of acne and one of the greatest fears of the beauty - a build-up of oils, serum and dead skin that plugs up your pores. Just like the blackheads, the whiteheads can be also seen in both teenagers and adults.
Whiteheads can be shortly defined as: tiny, pearly, white raised spots formed in the skin where skin cells clog and close a hair follicle (the reason why they are also called closed comedones ). Many people mistake whiteheads for pimples as they both look alike but there is a difference because whiteheads should be removed very carefully.
The exact cause of whiteheads isn’t still known for sure but most of the dermatologists suggest that the whiteheads are caused by the accumulation of hardened sebum (oil) in the pores of the skin. If the skin pore closes up then the bacteria will remain under the skin - it will begin to grow and after a few days a whitehead will be formed.
Whiteheads usually occur on different parts of the face, most commonly around the eyes and on the cheeks. Most of the people also get whiteheads on the chest, neck and forehead. Whiteheads are often accompanied with blackheads, pimples and acne.

HOW TO APPLY EYELINER WITHOUTTOO MUCH TROUBLE

There is no room for fear or panic when we tell you that this summer’s trend in make-up includes a touch of the magnetic eyeliner.

Don’t bother trying to convince yourselves that using eyeliner is the most efficient and quick way to ruin your make-up, by turning your eyes into blurry smeared drawings, as it is simply not true. Always remember that practice makes perfect, ladies.

The secret of the “tricky” liquid eyeliner lies in the mastering of few techniques that we will graciously share with you just days before the hottest part of the summer.

Acne

Acne is a skin condition characterized by plugged pores, inflamed pimples and deeper lumps that can appear on the face, neck, chest, back and shoulders. The disorder is most common throughout the teenage years when appearance is of particular importance. Acne is rarely a serious medical condition, but it often causes emotional distress and can be upsetting to the patient.

The reason acne occurs is the sensitivity of the body towards the increased level of the male hormone testosterone, which is present in both males and females. This stimulates the oil (sebaceous) glands of the skin to enlarge and produce and excess amount of sebum (oil) – natural substance, which lubricates and protects the skin.

At the same time, acne occurs when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells that dissociate from the inside surface of the sebaceous glands. The sebum produced by these glands accumulates with the dead skin cells in the follicle and solidify as a soft plug. This plug may cause the follicle to bulge and produce a whitehead or it may be open to the surface and darken,
causing a “blackhead”. The sebum stimulates bacteria, which live on everyone’s skin and generally cause no problems, to multiply and cause surrounding tissues to become inflamed. Inflammation near the skin’s surface produces a pustule; deeper inflammation results in a papule (pimple); deeper blockages and inflammations inside follicles produce lumps beneath the surface of the skin called cysts.

Certain medications, such as oral contraceptives, antibiotics and corticosteroids can aggravate the condition of the acne. For some women, acne can be an indication of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or hormonal imbalance, which can lead to abnormal menstrual periods, sterility, excess hair-growth and overweight.

GOT THIRSTY LIPS

Just as the rest of your skin, lips require constant hydration, especially during summer. Exposure to sun, high temperatures and strong wind causes the thin defensive layer of the lips to lose its moisture retention capacity. Dry, chapped and inflamed lips as a result? These are signs that the lips are thirsty.

Lips never tan because they lack melanin, but can get sunburnt if not protected. Use balm, lipstick or gloss with a sun protection factor (SPF) or a special care product. Don’t lick your lips in an attempt to moisten them as the saliva contains salts, which cause the lips to crack even more.

Lips require extra care if they are prone to peeling and cracking as this means that they are more susceptible to wrinkling as well. Ensure that you don’t have deficiency of one of the following substances: Vitamin B, iron or essential fatty acids. Don’t lick or bite your lips, because they will crack even more. Remove the dead layer of cells by massaging with a soft toothbrush. Increase your daily water intake.

The basic rule is: Always use hydrating and nourishing balms, lipsticks and glosses that have an SPF factor.

Plus Size Women's Sweaters

Plus size sweater have come a long way from boxy cut knit wear with little to no shape. Now sweaters can be found in many flattering styles and fabrics (like cashmere and wool/cotton blends) that look great on fuller, curvy figures. Some basic sweater shopping tips that will be flattering to all plus size women are: 1. Sweaters with a slight v-neck or deep v neckline compliment and bring attention to a beautiful face. 2. Look for sweaters that are cut with a slight curve at the waistline or just above to create a naturally looking hourglass figure. 3. A sweater set or cardigan creates a long vertical line down the middle of the body, which creates the illusion of a long, lean body.

Sun Safety Tips

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the culprit in sun-related skin damage. UV radiation reaches the earth at different wavelengths, each with different effects on the skin. Both UVA and UVB rays can cause skin cancer. UVB rays are the primary cause of sunburns. UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin. They can contribute to sunburn, and they can also produce the wrinkling, sagging and broken blood vessels that most of us think of as age-related. Not only can unprotected sun exposure damage your skin’s appearance, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation over 90 percent of skin cancers are due to sun exposure.
The good news is that you can be safe in the sun and still enjoy all the benefits of a healthy, active, outdoor lifestyle. Here are some facts and tips:

*
Remember that every exposure to the sun can be damaging to the skin. It’s important to limit your sun exposure no matter the season or time of day. Sun safety is necessary year-round, even if it’s cold or snowy. And don’t forget that snow, sand and water will reflect sunlight to your skin.

*
One of the best ways to protect your skin from sun exposure is to wear a broad spectrum sunscreen (UVA/UVB) with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher every day. It’s easy to remember if you make sunscreen application part of your morning skin care routine.

*
Make sure to apply your sunscreen liberally—including frequently missed areas such as your lips, ears, hands and feet. Sunscreens need to be reapplied frequently throughout the day. Some are not photostable, which means that they start to break down when exposed to sunlight and need to be reapplied more frequently to maintain their original level of protection.

*
You don’t have to sunbathe to get too much sun. Brief exposures add up. Even if you spend most of your day indoors, remember: UV rays can penetrate windows. You can receive a skin-damaging exposure even when riding in your car! And if tanning booths seem a safer alternative, you are still exposing yourself to these damaging UV rays! Sun damage accumulates over a lifetime, so teach your children the importance of sun safety beginning at an early age.

*
Daily sunscreen use is one of the most important things you can do to protect your and your children’s skin when outdoors. Remember the sun is strongest between the hours of 10AM and 4PM. So try to stay in the shade as much as possible during these hours and cover up with broad-brimmed hats and UV-blocking glasses.
