The Effects of Sun on the Eyes

Hot weather, stronger sun, sun bathing, swimming pools, air conditioning and dry atmospheres are all factors that can adversely affect the eye and cause vision problems.

The summer is a time when we really do want to look our best as we look forward to a holiday in the sun or weekends away.

It is at times like this that we are more likely to meet new faces and make new friends so watery, bloodshot eyes must be avoided if possible.

UV Radiation from the sun can trigger the onset of cataracts. It is a common misconception that cataracts are solely age related.

This is not so. Cataracts can occur at any age. Sunlight reflected from the surface of water or other reflective medium can cause conjunctivitis and keratitis.

The principle symptoms of conjunctivitis, sometimes known as pinkeye, are an intense itchiness and gritty feeling in the eye with accompanying redness, watery discharge and runny nose.

Keratitis is a term used to define a wide variety of painful corneal infections, irritations and inflammations
and it is important to obtain medical diagnosis and treatment at the earliest opportunity as delay can lead to corneal scarring which has vision implications.

Other causes of conjunctivitis and keratitis are lack of hygiene. In hot summer weather bugs of all sorts multiply faster so keep clean and in particular wash hands frequently.

Take these simple precautions seriously during the summer and you will limit the possibility of suffering from unsightly eyes and help to prevent the onset of sun related vision problems.

Avoid looking towards the sun, the solar rays can cause complete and at any age. permanent loss of sight. Wear sunglasses with good quality lenses. The lenses are the most important so do not be tempted to buy sunglasses just because the design is fashionable and suits you – check out the lenses.

The better lens colors are brown grey or green and preferably avoid very dark and very light colored lenses. Air Conditioning.

Air Conditioning Avoid continuous exposure to vents, as this will cause the surface of the eye to dry out.

To keep the eyes clear, sparkling and healthy it is essential that the surface stays naturally irrigated at all times.

If your eyes begin to feel dry blink rapidly a few times and this should help regulate the natural moisturizing effect.

Blinking is good in chlorinated swimming pools. It is best to always use goggles when swimming in a pool, as chlorine is an irritant that affects the eyes and too much exposure can be a cause of conjunctivitis or keratitis.

Even if you don’t immerse your head under the water, chlorine fumes are above the surface and will cause eye redness after a time and we do want to look our best don’t we?

Dust particles and pollen are a hazard of the summer months and can provoke or accentuate allergies that, sadly, in virtually every case have an effect on the eyes.

Try close fitting wrap around sunglasses to keep as much of the dust and pollen out and don’t forget to check the lenses for quality. Controlling the allergy with medication and keeping the dust out can allow your eyes to retain their natural beauty and prevent ugly redness and watering.

Summer is to enjoy and to get that feel good factor. The best parties and opportunities to meet new people seem to occur in summer. When the sun is out we feel and look healthier.

Summer is a time for optimism.

We spend more time out doors, the days are longer, and the flowers are at their best.

This is the time of the year when we are recharging our batteries and our bodies are preparing for the colder and sunless months ahead.

Don’t let red sore eyes diminish any of the pleasures you can get from summer, be wise and take care of your most precious asset and stay looking good.

Kareena Kapoor Postponed NY Trip to Celebrate Her Mothers Birthday

MUMBAI: Kareena was supposed to leave for a month-long schedule of Rensil D’Silva’s film. But she opted for a sudden change of plan. April 20 happened to be Kareena’s mother’s birthday. Mama as usual insisted that Kareena must not allow her work to suffer.

But while shooting an ad with Imtiaz Ali in Chandigarh two days prior to mom’s birthday Kareena suddenly decided to make April 20 a special day for her mom.Quickly wrapping up her work in Chandigarh she rushed back to Mumbai, postponed her and Saif’s trip to New York by a day to arrange a small family get-together over dinner at her swanky new place in Bandra.

Says Kareena, “It was just family for my Mom. That’s the way she likes it. That’s the way I wanted it to be. Yes, my dad was there too. And of course Saif. He’s very much part of the family.”

Reluctant to reveal any more detail about the magical evening, Kareena says, “My mom is my world. I’d do anything with her. Postponing mine and Saif’s trip to NY was nothing. What did I give my mom? My time and my love. That’s all she wants.”

Seeing him blend with the Kapoors at Kareena’s mom’s birthday, it is easy to see Saif is now the unofficial son-in-law of the family.

How to Apply Highlighter?

How can one look stunning despite all the makeup you have and the wonderful looks and clothes to complement it? That’s easy: maybe in your makeup ritual, you forgot to use highlighter—that’s what can make you look stunning.

Highlighters let you reflect light, and if applied well they can highlight that feature of your face by lending some shine to it that is most flattering to you. But for this, you need to apply it well. All news
How it is Done?

First, see that your highlighter pencil has a sharp point so that you can get a fine line. To draw attention to your eyes, draw a line onto the skin in short sketchy lines so that you get a soft look. For an intense look, use a heavy hand and give it a layered look. Do you want a smudged effect? Using a smudger sponge brush or your finger, blend lightly and use either as liner or shadow.
Highlighter Tips:

* Wide-set eyes: Use highlight looks wonderful when placed in the middle of the creases of the eyes and then given a smudged look.
* Close-set eyes: Draw a line along the upper eyelash line. Skip one third of the eye, then blending outward, create an illusion of wide-set eyes.
* Puffy lids: Don’t highlight the lids as this could give them a raised effect. Instead, highlight the area just below the arch of the eyebrow to give it a balanced look.
* Small lids: Use highlighter across the entire upper lid. This will attract the light from all directions and give a fuller look to the lids.
* Flat lids: To give a sense of dimension to your eyes, blend in highlighter in an upward stroke, going toward the brow bone. If your eyes have no visible crease, they could look large and awesome if you highlight the inner third of the eye. So, take care.
* Dark spots: To cover dark spots, draw over those areas and pat with your finger to blend in the highlighter. With the warmth of your finger, the color of your highlighter will diffuse effectively. Once this is done, apply a light layer of foundation over it.
* Glitter: If your highlighter also contains glitter, this is really outrageous because the glitter pieces can be seen. They may be perfect for going to the disco or late night parties. You can add glitter highlight not just to your lids but to the centre of the lips, and a dash on the cheekbones.
* Shimmer: This is quite like glitter, but in a muted form. Here, the shimmer pieces, though visible, are much smaller which gives you a definite sparkle.

Quite obviously, highlighter does a good job of making heads turn in your direction. If that’s the result, well why not go ahead and slap on some highlighter—but deftly and subtly.

Kareena Kapoor Agree To Work With Shahid in “Milenge Milenge”

Kareena Kapoor Agree To Work With Shahid in “Milenge Milenge”Shooting for a snack ad in Chandigarh with one of her favourite directors Imtiaz Ali , Kareena Kapoor is one worried girl. Before she left for New York on April 20 for a month-long shoot she must complete the dubbing for her over-fresh Kambhakt Ishq and woefully-stalled Milenge Milenge.

Close to collapse due to over-exertion and exhaustion, Kareena is determined to prove she’s a thorough professional . Defying all the talk that she has been sidelining her only pending assignment with Shahid Kapoor, Kareena is in fact been running in and out of the dubbing studio to complete the dubbing of Milenge Milenge before she leaves the country.

Sighing with fatigue Kareena says, “We’re all professionals here . For me it doesn’t matter who the leading man in Milenge Milenge is . For me what is important is that I made a commitment to two of my favourite people in the industry producer Boney Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik who’ve stood by me from the beginning of my career. How can I let them down? Boney wants a summer release for his film. I’ve to complete my dubbing before I leave.”

Putting aside every waking moment Kareena is determined to complete her work on Milenge Milenge. “I’m running in and out of two dubbing studios. I’ve already completed most of the dubbing for both.”

The film is special because after Jab We Met this is the only time Kareena will be seen with Shahid Kapoor.

Says Kareena, “I know people have expectations from us individually and as a pair, And they won’t be disappointed. It’s a very sweet film. And not dated at all though it got delayed. “I’m as proud of Milenge Milenge as I am of any of my films,” ends Kareena .”

2nd Year Student Asthamic Girl Vasant Vihar Died, Blamed on School

NEW DELHI: The death of a Class XII student of Modern School, Vasant Vihar, after an asthmatic attack on Monday morning, has led to a controversy with the family and friends of the deceased alleging negligence by the school authorities. Aakriti Bhatia (17) died on her way to the hospital. The school has denied the allegation.
Aakriti had complained of breathlessness to her teacher around 10am and after nine minutes she called to inform her mother. Later, when Aakriti’s condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the sports room and was put on oxygen. However, around 10.40am, when she was taken to the Holy Angels Hospital around 2 km from the school she was declared brought dead. www.bollywood91.com

According to Dr Rajnish Bharti, CMO, Holy Angels: “By the time she was brought to us, she was dead. We will know the exact cause after the postmortem report. It could have been a cardiac arrest or a severe case of respiratory distress.”

However, Aakriti’s family is alleging negligence on the part of the school administration. The parents have now said they would file a case against the school.

Speaking to Times City on Tuesday, Goldy Malhotra, principal, Modern School, said the school acted according to the situation and that Aakriti’s mother had called them to send her child home. “Aakriti is an old case of asthma and was finding it difficult to breathe on Monday morning. She called home in between and then met the class teacher who took her to the sports room as the clinic is on the first floor. Lilly Kutty, the nurse, administered oxygen. Aakriti then felt slightly better and spoke to her father after which she was taken to Holy Angels at 10.40am. A little bit of time was lost due to the traffic but she collapsed on the way,” said Malhotra.

Aakriti’s parents are friends are accusing the school of a delay in taking her to the hospital. They also alleged that the school doesn’t have a regular doctor and that the clinic is ill-equipped to manage crisis situations. Moreover, questions are being raised on why the school waited for the vehicle of Aakriti’s father, Vipin Bhatia, to arrive and didn’t call for an ambulance. Bhatia said: “While there was no doctor available in the school to attend to any emergency case, the school didn’t call the ambulance. Moreover, they took my daughter to the hospital without oxygen.”

Aakriti’s friends, meanwhile, said that when she first complained, the headmaster didn’t take the matter seriously and later the nurse said she can’t come down to take a look at Aakriti. “The nurse refused to come down and asked her to come up instead. Later, when her condition deteriorated, we forced her to come down. No one in the school was concerned,” said one of Aakriti’s close friends.

Raman Verma, Aakriti’s maternal uncle, alleged that the principal was putting pressure on the parents and students to prevent them from speaking to the media and police on what actually transpired during those 40 minutes that resulted in Aakriti’s death. “At the hospital, the principal asked us to give in writing that we have nothing against the school,” said Verma.

Some students have threatened to stage a demonstration on Wednesday at 1.40pm against the school administration for its alleged negligence. The Bhatia family said it would pull out Aakriti’s brother from the school. He studies in Class V.

Katrina Kaif Has The Sexiest Butt

http://www.bollywood91.com

Katrina Kaif It’s no secret that Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif is naturally well endowed at all the right places. Even the half-blind can see what a poll conducted by a website seems to be suggesting – that Katrina Kaif has the sexiest butt, even sexier than the behinds of Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Biel, Beyonce Knowles, Malaika Arora and Yana Gupta . Even the much touted Mallika Sherawat couldn’t match the deadly derriere of Katrina. However, when it comes to luscious lips, Katrina had to concede to Priyanka Chopra whose natural pout is as eye-grabbing as Kat’s butt.
Katrina also emerged as the favourite of the voters as the celebrity they want to see as the ambassador of a soft drink. It appears that thirsts aren’t quenched until people see Kat selling the beverage. She, however, had tough competition from Deepika Padukone , Asin and Genelia D’Souza , each of who endorses different carbonated drinks.
From being chosen as the sexiest Asian woman in the world in a poll by a UK-based weekly last year to being named the most googled Bollywood actress, Katrina has steadily made way into people’s hearts through her beauty and her work.
Undoubtedly amongst the best lookers in Hindi film industry, Katrina though has yet to make her mark as an actress with talent. She says people’s perception will change after they see her in Prakash Jha’s Rajniti and Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani .

Skin Moisturizers For Different Skin Types

Oily Skin:
The moisturizers for patients with oily skin should be non-comedogenic or oil-free.
Dry Skin:
There are a small percentage of people who actually have dry skin on their face, these people will be dry on the cheeks and jawline. Many of these patients work outside in rough elements, and many of these people are over 50 years of age. For these patients a creamy moisturizer in a lotion or cream is very effective. If they do not have sensitive skin, they can wear whatever products feels good.

The reason for the paucity of dry skin on the face, is that there is an abundance of sebaceous glands on the face to prevent dryness. These are particularly active in young people, in men, and in many normal women. If a person is scaly in the center of the face central forehead, around the nose, and on the central chin, this may be seborrheic dermatitis. The use of a heavy moisturizer in people who have central facial dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis) could lead to acne.
Normal - Combination Skin:

Most people have oily skin on the forehead, nose, and chin (called th T-zone), and dryer skin on the cheeks and neck. When the humidity is low, it may be necessary to moisturize the face. The most prudent of patients ,male or female, will select a non-comedogenic moisturizer which contains a minimum SPF of 15 in it for daily use. There are legions of such products reasonably priced, which will prevent cancer and photoaging.
Moisturizers - Body Skin:

Because there are very few sebaceous (oil) glands on the arms and legs, moisturizers are very important. Winter, dry climates, and windy climates are very hard on the skin of the body. Many body lotions incorporate sunblocks for a daily routine. This is very important for sun exposed skin.

Often heavy moisturizers such as petrolatum Aquaphor, Cetaphil cream, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula, and other Jar or tube moisturizers are needed for dry climates. What may be appropriate for facial skin may be too thin for the arms, legs, hands, and feet.

“But that changed when this busker started yelling, ‘It’s that girl from Star Wars. She played Queen Amidala. What is her name?’

Samantha’s call helped Lindsay tone down her wild ways

It seems Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan’s former lover Samantha’s “encouraging” phone call has done wonders for her, as she has toned down her wild ways since then.

Samantha called Lohan and begged her to tone down her wild ways and seek help.

Lindsay had left her friends and family jittery, after she went to every single pub in the city to beat her post split blues.

However, Samantha’s call has succeeded in calming her down, as she is currently refraining from binging on alcohol.

“Sam and Lindsay are speaking. But Sam has begged Lindsay to get help,” the Sun quoted one of her pals as saying.

“Everyone was very worried where her behavior would end. Hopefully we are through the worst of it but she still needs to be watched carefully,” the pal added.

Meanwhile, Lindsay has gone for a makeover after her split from Samantha.

She has had her hair dyed red, and got a new tattoo.

Hand And Feet Care

Taking care of your hands is important as well as easy.Even those who think that they have no time for such treatments, can manage to take out about 5 minutes from their busy schedule, and pay some attention to those poor, neglected hands.

To make your hands look pretty as well as well-kept, start with manicure. It takes about 15 minutes, and once a week is quite enough.Once your hands are manicured, all you need is a little natural oil to keep it moisturised.

A Simple To Do-Home Manicure:

Things You Require:
For your manicure, take a small bowl of warm, soapy water.A small hand towel, a nail file, cotton wool, coconut oil for moisturising, nail polish remover, and polish. It is much nicer to prefer pink and pearlised shades, for the daytime.Nail polish is best applied before you go to bed so that you do not have to worry about badly kept nails in the morning.Purple, violet and other dark shades, are a bit too extreme for formal dressing, but if you find that they suit your personality, as a lady with a mind of her own, please go ahead! After all, individual tastes, differ.
Manicure Steps:
A.First, remove your older nail polish and then file your nails.Long nails are best suited to people with long slim fingers, and if you have short, sturdy singers, please make sure that your nails are shaped to an oval, and not more than 1/16 th of an inch past the fingertip.
B.Next, soak your hands in the soapy water, for 2 minutes.Press back the cuticles, very gently with your towel. They are very delicate, and need moisturising. To remove any soap deposit, wipe your nails again with nail polish remover.
C.Apply a base coat, beginning with the thumb.Base coats are normally transparent nail polishes, which are either strengtheners, or just present to stop the chemical products of the nail polish, to yellow your nails.
D.After it has dried, apply nail polish.Use only 2 light coats, allowing the first to dry completely before applying the second.
E.Finally, when the polish is completely dry, massage the coconut oil/ Almond oil/ olive oil into your hands up to the wrist.
A manicure once a week keeps your hands feeling good.As it is always preferable to use natural products, rather than expensive creams and moisturisers, go back to nature and every night, use a bit of milk cream, or milk as a natural moisturiser.A little bit of salt added to it will bleach your hands beautifully.

If you have to use your hands for washing up, gardening, or any work which needs hand care, it is always best to use hand gloves. And if you think that it is too tiresome, what is to stop you from oiling your hands too well, with coconut oil, or milk, and then washing up? For gardening, always make sure that little soap pieces are placed under your nails, so that dirt does not get caught between fingertips and nails.

Remember that very hot and very cold water is disastrous for hands.Make sure, the water is at room temperature. In the winters, it is always preferable to wash your face and hands in cold water, to keep the naturally moisturising oil in, but make sure, you apply some oil after a wash.

Exercise For The Fingers And The Wrist:Fingers are best kept supple by exercising upon an imaginary keyboard.Put your hands out, and flap them like wings of an ostrich, then rotate your wrists, clockwise and anticlockwise. If you happen to be doing a lot of writing work, exercise your fingers by clenching your fists, and then opening out your fingers, fast. This close-open, close-open exercise can not only relieve finger fatigue, but it’s also useful in keeping your fingers from gaining deposits at the joints.

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2009 RTW

From leopard underwear to the black corset sheath, Dolce & Gabbana has been known for flash and fetishism since bursting onto the international scene in the late eighties. It’s no wonder pop princesses Kylie Minogue and Beyoncé wear Dolce & Gabbana on and off the stage and Madonna enlisted the boys to design more than 1,500 costumes for her 1993 Girlie Show Tour. But that Italian va-va-voom has always been underpinned by immaculate tailoring, and over the last couple of seasons, the duo has been intent on revealing a more sophisticated soul.

Best Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream

The eyes are the window to the soul, and the skin around them is no exception. That is why it is easy to tell a person’s age by how wrinkled or bright the skin around their eyes looks. There are many reasons for wrinkle development - the sun, the wind, and even the cold can all cause wrinkle formation. A person’s genetics also plays a role in how wrinkles form, an anti wrinkle eye cream may be a good option to consider treating the development of lines and wrinkles if it’s too late for you to prevent them completely.

Skin can also be strengthened with natural extracts like algae, which encourage new tissue to grow and revs up the natural skin cells. A product with multiple natural ingredients is a good place to start, and is also a product that will be more gentle on your skin.

The best formulation to look for is the nano-lipid form, which permeates through the skin instead of laying on it, which will do little to achieve the effect you’re looking for. Anti wrinkle eye creams containing CoQ10 help to firm up and regenerate the skin around the eyes by combating free radicals and slowing the oxidation of cells. Skin hydration also helps improve the appearance of wrinkles, and the creams with the best results use plant-based oils such as Babassu oil or orange essential oil to moisturize.

There are some ingredients to stay away from when looking for an anti wrinkle eye cream, however. Your skin can get dried out from Parabens, which can lead to disease. Pores can get clogged from mineral oils, and this can stop your skin from being hydrated and refreshing itself.

Even synthetic fragrances, which are a pleasant-smelling touch but not necessary, have been found to be cancer causing. Be sure to avoid these ingredients, and stick instead to natural ones that haven’t been tested on animals.

You can amp up the results you get by drinking a lot of water, and maintaining a healthy diet and a consistent exercise program. Be sure to invest in a good sunscreen, too. The right one provides protection against all kinds of UV rays and helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Large, dark sunglasses can also help reduce crow’s feet, and hey, they look good too!

Do your research into the available products, and make sure what you’re reading is from credible sources, like a dermatologist or medical professional. Compare the ingredients, and be sure to look for CoQ10, or Coenzyme 10, a key antioxidant that helps heal skin tissue and aids with hydration.

Inform yourself before you shop. Pick a product with natural ingredients, one that will support the soft skin around your eyes and refresh your skin. The best anti wrinkle eye cream for you is one that works with your body- not one that harms it.

Preity Zinta smiles prettily on Vikram Chatwal

Vai www.bollywood91.com

Mumbai,: There is something magical about married men that our desi beauties find irresistible. Why else would smoking hot sirens like Shilpa Shetty (who was recently left flabbergasted by claims of playing a spoil sport in Raj Kundra’s marriage), go running into the arms of men who have had failed marriages. Keeping up with the current trend is our pretty beauty Preity Zinta doing some nasty things in the married life of loaded Vikram Chatwal.

Not that we want to add pace to the Ness-Preity break up rumours running wild in B-town, but if the latest buzz is to believed then the ravishing Ms Zinta has found comfort in the arms of New York-based businessman and hotelier Vikram Chatwal.

Vikram is married but that’s the least of Preity’s worries it seems. Oblivious of the intruding media glare, the two got together like a house-on-fire at Mai Mumbai fashion show.

What makes this reported love affair believable is the fact that Chatwal and his wife Priya Sachdev are known to be drifting apart, courtesy Chatwal’s highflying flirtatious lifestyle.

But it’s not only Chatwal, who is all set for a new romance, but also Preity, whose constant animosity with Ness’s mother Maureen Wadia is acting like fuel to fire. Talking about the two’s hot camaraderie at the fashion event, a news daily even quoted a source as saying, “When Vikram walked the ramp, it was Preity who was cheering most loudly for him. From the look of it, it was apparent that Vikram and Priety enjoy being together. At a party held later during the day, Priety was with Vikram throughout the evening.”

Well, why waste time moping over a failed relationship when you have a millionaire waiting at your doorstep!

How to apply Lipstick and Lip Liners?

Lipstick provides the final touch to your makeup. Without it no look is complete. For a perfect result, you will need a steady hand, some practice, the correct implements and a knowledge of the correcting techniques.
What all would you need for lipstick application?

A narrow, flat ended brush, a selection of finely sharpened lip pencils, lip gloss and lipstick (either the conventional tube lipstick or the cream type with a sponge-tip applicator). If your lip colour is uneven, then you will need a special lip base or balancer - use a lighter tone on the dark areas and a dark tone on light areas. These balancers also form a base for lipstick and help to keep the colour of the lipstick pure and clear.
How to apply Lipsticks and Lip Liners?

Step 1 - Before applying on lipstick clean lips with apiece of cotton wool swab dipped in cleansing milk. Lipstick does not give luster if your lips are not clean. Do not use soap because lips have soft skin.

Step 2 - Condition your lips with lip balm (avoid chap stick and other waxy substances) and let it fully absorb before applying colour on your lips.

Step 3 - Now you can choose to either apply the lip liner along the natural shape of your lips first, then fill in the rest of your lips with lipstick or applying the lipstick first, then topping it off with lip liner. If you have a problem with getting the lip liner to blend with the lipstick, apply the lipstick first.

Step 4 - Before outlining the lips, check that your lips are smooth and grease-free.

Step 5 - Use a sharp pencil of a shade close to that of your lipstick colour and with a steady hand, lightly outline the lips. For the upper lip, start at the centre and work out, towards the corner of the mouth. For the lower lip, work from side to side.

Step 6 - Fill in the lips with a special base or balancer to even out the skin tones. If your lips are of an even colour, use a face powder as a base.

Step 7 - Using a lipstick brush, fill in the colour. For the upper lip, start at the centre and work outwards. On the lower lip work from side to side. Don’t pile up too much colour. It is much easier to add more later than to remove any excess.

Step 8 - Fold a clean tissue and place it between your lips. Press the lips lightly together to remove the excess colour and to help seal the remainder, so that it stays on the lips rather than moving on to every glass you use.

Step 9 - Finally finish with a lip gloss to get a gleaming look.
Lipstick Applying Tips

Lipstick Applying Tip 1 - When lining your lips, start at one corner of your lower lip and work your way towards the centre.

Lipstick Applying Tip 2 - Use short, even strokes and never line directly onto your skin - always have the line touching the edge of your lips. Then line your top lip, concentrating on the small arches at the centre of your upper lip, making sure they’re defined but not too pointy and freaky-looking.

Lipstick Applying Tip 3 - Blot your lips by lightly clamping them down on tissue and releasing immediately.

Lipstick Applying Tip 4 - Another tip to keep you from ‘eating’ all your lipstick is alternately applying colour and blotting it. This will create layers of colour. But don’t apply more than three layers or your lips will look frighteningly thick.
SHAPING UP YOUR LIPS

Through a knowledge of what you can do to correct lip shape you can truly achieve a perfect finish to your face. Study the shape of your lips, identify the defects if any and decide on what you want to achieve and then proceed.

For Thin Lips: These are easily corrected by taking the pencil outside the natural lip line. Work slowly and steadily to form a perfect shape. Fill in with a primer and finally with the lipstick. A highlight of frosting on the upper lip would also create an impression of fullness.

For Thick Lips: These can be made to look smaller by drawing the outline just within the natural shape. Use medium toned lip colours and avoid dark browns, plums, electric brights or pale shimmer shades.

For Crooked Lips: Asymmetry in lips should be studied well and you will be able to correct the shape by adjusting the outline to provide a perfect balance.

For Shapeless Lips: Draw the most flattering shape by emphasizing the centre of the top line and adding fullness to the lower.

Bridal Beauty prior to Wedding

Every woman wants to look beautiful on her wedding day. She would, however, be disappointed if she were to depend on cosmetics to bring sudden changes in her. Cosmetics may, at best, hide a few defects but they do not have the capacity to change your looks. It is, therefore, important that you look after yourself at least two months prior to the wedding day. Facial once a week will clear the complexion within two months. If in your town you do not have the facility of a beautician, use homemade facial masks. But, do not forget to put cotton wool swabs soaked in rose water on your eyes.

Do a Facial Massage with face cleansers or deep-cleansing milk lightly at night before going to bed. Regular massage gives natural glow to the skin, because massaging helps in proper blood circulation which in turn, makes the skin soft, healthy and attractive. After deep cleansing, apply nourishing cream and massage lightly a little. In morning, sprinkle icy-cold water from the fridge. Do not use soap if the skin is dry. It will crack and leave white patches. Instead, use moisturizer. If the skin is oily, make a paste with oat flour, add lemon juice and rub well. It will prevent pimples.

One month before wedding stop all makeup. But, if you cannot avoid it sometimes, then clean it off soon. Moreover, stop eating fried food. Drink honey-mixed lemon water first of all in the morning before taking any other drink.

Beautiful hands symbolize a good character. For the beauty of hands remember three things-skin should be soft, fingers should have a beautiful shape, and nails should be welltrimmed. So, stop household works, like cleaning utensils, washing clothes, brooming. Or if you must, then use rubber gloves. Massage fingers with cold cream or cuticle cream at night. After kitchen work, dip fingers in soap water.
Home Remedy for Soft Hands

Take ,a spoonful sugar and juice of a lemon on your palm and rub them together with your palms till sugar melts. Honey can replace sugar, if available. It is more effective. This should be done daily for a month before wedding.

It is essential that you are ready with all the required items of makeup two days before wedding so that you remain free of tension. Go to bed early to avoid mental tension. In fact, mental peace enhances natural beauty. If you find it difficult to have a sound sleep, drink a glass of hot milk.

Don’ts Of Eye Care

Don’t wear contact lenses for extended periods of time or overnight as this leads to complication.

Don’t rub eyes frequently as this can cause an eye infection as few of us bother to wash our hands before touching our eyes.

When you splash water do not do this furiously believing doing this will take away tiredness instead wash gently as splashing may hurtle the smallest dust particles or an allergen which may minutely damage the cornea.

Use disposable tissues instead of handkerchiefs to wipe eyes, as they are more hygienic.

Don’t sit near than 15 feet from the television and keep your book at least two feet away for stronger eye muscles.

Use cream based eye makeup as powdery eye shadows can enter eyes and, cause irritation. Be very gentle in case you wear lenses.

Avoid using aerosol products like hairspray if you wear lenses.

Don’t use your mascara for more than a year.

Hand Care Tips

Beautiful, well-kept and delicate hands are important. Hands tell you a number of things about yourself. Hands tell you how you lead your life and how you take care of your body and skin. It is said that the hands tell you how old a woman is. No matter how old you are, your hands tell an observer a lot about yourself as a person. Dressing up in fancy clothes is of no use if you do not take care of your hands and feet. While speaking or communicating with others you use your hands to express yourself, emphasize a point etc. Hands play an important role in communication. Imagine what life would be like without your hands. It is a part of the body that you use the most, you cook with them, get dressed with them, write with them, empathize with them and shake others hands when you meet them. Take good care of your hands and treat them well as they are essential for your existence.

Here are few hand care tips:

* The skin on your hand is thin and delicate; therefore take special care of them.
* Moisturize your hands at least four times a day.
* Use your face exfoliator on your hands once a week.
* Once a week apply your face cream on to your hands before you go to bed.
* For dry hands after washing your hands with soap, wet them again. Pour salt on your hands and then scrub them under water. Dry hands and apply moisturizer on them.
* For greasy hands, after washing your hands rub cornmeal on them.
* Wear rubber gloves while working at home and in the garden.
* Protect and prevent your hands from aging and abuse.
* Protect your hands from the ravages of changing weather.
* Protect your hands while working in the sun.
* The best way to take care of your hands is to protect them on a daily basis.

Abdominal Exercises Information

The truth is that every one of those abdominal exercises that I just mentioned, plus every ab exercise that I didn’t mention, will not help you have a perfect 6 pack. EVERY one of these abdominal exercises will only help to strengthen and build your ab muscles. BUT, that won’t do a damn thing for you if you have a layer of fat covering them! You see, no abdominal exercises burn fat. None of the ones you see in infomercials, none of the machines you see in your gym, no special ab workouts, and even good old crunches and situps, none of these abdominal exercises will burn the fat on your stomach. All they will do is help make your ab muscles stronger, and help build them. You can make your abs as strong as you want, and build them as nice as you want for as long as you want, but as long as you still have fat, even the slightest amount of fat on your stomach, your abs will not be visible.
That is it right there, if you have a low bodyfat, then you have visible abs. Maybe your thinking to yourself, “well, my bodyfat isn’t that high and I do all types of the best abdominal exercises everyday, and I still can’t see my abs.” Well, all that means is your bodyfat might be low, but it is not low enough.

Nail Weekly Maintenance

Basic self-manicuring should be done once a week and only takes 15-20 minutes. It is also commonly recommended (although I don’t do it myself) to visit a professional manicurist every 4-6 weeks.

1. Remove old nail polish. Moisten a cottonball with nail polish remover and press over the nail for a few seconds to soften the polish. Firmly bring the cotton from the base of the nail to the tip. Repeat until all the polish is gone.
2. Shape the nail. Using an emery board, file each nail tip from corner to center. Do not file back and forth or in a “see-saw” motion over the nail since that can cause ridges and splitting.
3. Clean the fingers/nails. Soak the hands in warm soapy water for a few minutes to loosen dirt. Use an orange wood stick to clean under the free edge of each nail. You may want to use a toothbrush to gently scrub away stubborn dirt especially under the nails. (Tip: Don’t use the same toothbrush you use for your teeth… that’s just really disgusting… sometimes I wonder about you!)
4. Push back the cuticle. The cuticle is the skin that grows from the finger onto the base of the nail. Some professionals actually suggest that the cuticle be left in tact to help prevent infections. If you decide to work on them, do not cut the cuticles or push them back excessively.
5. Apply clear nail polish. There is no need to by items designed as a “base coat” or “top coat.” Clear polish or a clear nail hardener does the trick. Let the polish completely dry before continuing.
6. Apply color nail polish if desired. Make sure the polish is dry before applying another coat (if needed). You may want to apply a top coat of clear polish to prevent chipping of the colored polish.
7. Moisturize the hands and cuticles. Apply a moisturizing cream or lotion to help prevent nail splitting and keep them flexible. Polish and hardeners can actually make the nail more try and susceptible to chips so don’t assume you need hardener. I use a clear base coat more since it helps keep colored polish from staining my nails which sometimes happens.
